(IsraelNN.com) The reconstituted, but still independent and voluntary, Sanhedrin - the highest judicial body in a Torah-based Jewish state - has been seeing more cases come before its special court in recent months. The latest is that of a couple from the northern Samaria town of Sa-Nur who asked if they may accept the compensation for their property offered them by the state.
The Sanhedrin, headed by Rabbi Adin Steinzaltz, has previously issued a decision opposing the relinquishing of land under the Disengagement Plan.
